Getting what didn’t ask for…

13. July, 2012UncategorizedComments Off

Good morning friends,

I hope you’ve had a blessed week. I’ve enjoyed my week of sharing God’s word on WPCA each morning. If you weren’t able to catch them over the air, you can click here (http://kingdombite.blogspot.com/2012/07/more-time.html) and read this morning’s devotion. A brief reflection on how God answered an impossible prayer – one that I didn’t even ask for.

I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday where we will hear briefly from Amery Alumnus Caitlyn Overton about her opportunity to work with Campus Crusade this next year.

Good Afternoon Friends,

Tomorrow night (Wednesday May 22nd at 7pm we will conclude our Bible study “Quiet Heroes of the Faith.” May think of John Mark as a deserter, but come and study with us what makes him a Hero.

This Thursday (May 23rd) morning, all Men are invited to Kristi’s Coffee Shop (located next to dicks market) at 7am for fellowship, encouragement, and prayer.

No Sunday School This Sunday, but worship is at 10:15 AM. (June 3rd we will switch to our Summer schedule worship service at 9:15 AM.)

I am reminded of the old musical “The Sound of Music.” Whenever I think of this movie, I can’t help but hear the voice of Julie Andrews belting out “My Favorite Things.” As I listen to this song, I can’t help but make my own list of Favorites, and would like to share with you one of them. The Cross of Calvary.

Holy Week

31. March, 2012UncategorizedComments Off

Sunday, April 1st is the first day in what is commonly called Holy Week. This season will provide some unique opportunities for us to worship together as a congregation. There will be no Lenten Service on Wednesday April 4th.

Thursday, April 5th, also known as Maundy Thursday, we will be having a Tenebrae Service. Tenebrae, the Latin word for shadows, is a service held in silence and deepening darkness to illustrate the growing blackness of Holy Week (the week before Easter). Traditionally the service is ended in total darkness, and the congregation leaves in silence. Plan to join us this Maundy Thursday, April 5th, at 7pm as we experience the agonizing reality of Christ’s last hours on earth through Scripture, song and prayer.

Friday April 6th is our Community Good Friday Service, this year being held at East Lincoln Alliance Church. Our service will begin at 7pm with a time of fellowship following.

Good Friday

Sunday April 8th, Easter Sunday, our morning begins with and Easter Breakfast hosted by our youth. Beginning at 9am and serving through 9:45. Throughout the morning we will hear testimonies of God’s resurrection power in the lives of our youth. Our Easter worship service begins at 10:15am.
