“When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’ So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.” Luke 2:15-16
The Christian life can be lonely, but God brings unexpected friends. Mary and Joseph must have felt alone. They traveled miles away from family and friends to a town where they couldn’t even find proper lodging. Much to their surprise God sent new friends. The shepherds and Magi may have been unlikely companions but Mary treasured their care and presence for years afterward.
As you follow Christ’s leading throughout your life you can trust that He will provide friends along the way, sometimes in the most unexpected people and unlikely places.
